This modern and stylish Asbury Park two-part wedding, photographed by Bride Johnson Weddings, proves that jumpsuit brides are not afraid to be themselves.
The couple bucked the trend and began their nuptials with a private vows ceremony in front of immediate family the night before the party. Even at the private event, they set the fashion tone with their casual yet fab outfits – Ethan in a blue suit and sneakers & Ali in a chic modern white dress with a black strap.
Ethan received Ali’s incredibly cool embellished jumpsuit from the Lakum collection the next day. Ali’s relaxed short hair and Christian Louboutins gave her the most relaxed bride vibes during their fun reception.
We’re ready to go for rainbow sprinkle wedding cake!
Our Love Story
Ethan and I met nine years ago, just a few days after Valentine’s Day. I didn’t want to go to the party because I was too tired from the night before. My best friend Emeka invited me. I was sober when I attended the party and met Ethan. We didn’t know we would be hanging out after that night, but we did.
The Proposal in His Version
Our proposal was a good fit for us and included our pets. Ali loves dogs and doesn’t like to be the center of attention. So, it was a private proposition involving our pets.
The Proposal in Her Version
Ethan had asked me to go out and get him some ginger ale as a favor. It was funny. I had just returned from my parent’s house. Ethan had not asked me before I left for home. I was angry with him because he didn’t ask. When I returned to the house with the ginger beer he “needed” to soothe his upset stomach, Ethan and the dogs were all set to propose.
The Ceremony
Despite the rain, Ali and Ethan had a modern, relaxed wedding celebration in Asbury, NJ. The couple exchanged vows at Porta in Asbury Park the night before their reception in an intimate ceremony with close family.
The Venue & Style
They started their reception at the Asbury Hotel, where they prepared, had their first glance, and danced all night. The couple began their day with family and friends (including the dogs) to get ready. They met downstairs for their first glance. Ali surprised Ethan by giving him a beautiful Lakum Collection wedding jumpsuit. He thought it was going to look like a dress.
The Reception
The couple decided to skip the traditional reception and dinner in favor of rotating stations available every hour. The evening concluded with a mini rainbow sprinkle cake and dancing until the night ended. Our wedding was light and fun. We both enjoyed ourselves and the crowd.
