The real wedding of today is a destination bash with a ton of gorgeous details that you can steal for your big day.
Florence & Gildas, a Belgian couple, dreamed about getting married on the Athenian Coast in Greece.
With the help of White Ribbon Boutique Event, it became a reality, with colorful décor, casual dining, and lawn games, as well as fun vibes.
George Pahountis, a top Greek photographer, was chosen to capture their special day.
When you scroll down this wedding, the first thing that you notice is the color. The bright colors of the wedding, from pink peonies to bougainvillea, to green glassware, to yellow Billy buttons and green fern leaves, add instant joy and excitement to the celebrations. Not to mention their backdrop of the Aegean’s glistening, blue waters.
If the aesthetics alone weren’t enough, Florence & Gildas entertained their small group with quizzes, songs, games, and videos all day.
Their choice of comfortable, chic clothing added to the relaxed atmosphere. Florence’s Rembo Styling dress and flower crown give a nod to Grecian fashion, while Gildas’ bow tie with suspenders adds a playful touch.
This couple’s wedding ceremony was full of sentiment. They included a tree-planting, sealing love letters in Champagne, and a tree-planting together.
This couple shows you how to make a destination wedding feel just as personal and intimate as one in your hometown.
The Inspiration
Our wedding theme was rustic and organic.
Our venue was chosen for its stunning views, its location in Athens that felt like an island, and its style!
The Ceremony
We invited our friends to perform Oasis’ “Let There Be Love,” and the guests sang along.
The exchange of vows was then followed by the planting of the love tree together.
The final step is to seal a box with love letters that we have written each other, along with a bottle of Champagne, which we will later open.
The Attire
In total, we chose comfortable clothing that more closely matched our personalities.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen wore pistachio-coloured dresses.
The Music
Processional: “Close to Paradise” by Patrick Watson
Recessional: “We are from Barcelona” by I’m From Barcelona
First Dance Song: “More Than Words” by Extreme
The Refreshments
Since we wanted to keep the wedding informal and light, we served many juices, such as homemade mint and strawberry.
There were many live cooking stations and different food stations.
The cake was a combination of white and chocolate, with gold leaf and traditional details.
Decor & Details
Our lawn games included DIY ring-toss, ladder golf, and croquet.
For a more natural look, we also used foliage and greenery to decorate our table plan, cake, and lanterns.
For centerpieces, we used a variety of vintage containers filled with flowers in different colors. On each plate, we placed a beautiful boutonniere. We used vintage glassware, gold cutlery, and green goblets.
